The Grand Imperial Harp

A large Classical style of lever harp
with stately grandeur

This majestic lever harp was designed and built specifically for myself for my own performances. It displays the graceful elegance of magnificent pedal harps without their prohibitive price tags.

Most lever harps end at C2. This 47 string C1-G7 extended range enhances any repertoire with its full lush tone. The bass has a tonal depth and richness that often surpasses many pedal harps.

Rivaling the largest pedal harps, it stands 74" tall, 36" deep, with a 22" soundboard. It weighs about 1/3 less at 66 lbs.

The most visually stunning feature of pedal harps is the ornate pillar and this lever harp is no exception.  Pillar profiles can be elaborately contoured or streamlined. I design and carve custom artwork with great attention to detail. Carving options range from richly ornamental, to subtle accents, to none at all.

Extended soundboards are rare on lever harps and project an amazing depth of tone in the bass. Besides that, they also look fabulous. Soundboard decorating was not featured on this harp, but it is an option for an even more spectacular effect.

This represents the flagship of all my models. Its grand size is not necessarily recommended for people of smaller stature, and requires a suitable vehicle to transport. Nevertheless it showcases many features available on my smaller classical model, the Grand Tiara.
